Morocco: Day 7



We had a day tour in Fez today. Dr. Said is one of the best tour guide I have ever met. He is very informative, very knowledgeable, quick-minded and responsive to curiosities. He was trained in a PhD program in Anthropology in the United States while later became an architecture focusing on Muslim architecture. He brought us to Madrasa in the morning, which is a conpound of Islam architecture. Every single space on the wall is covered with colorful tiles and clays. The building faces inwards, for the purpose of getting nature light and maintain privacy. Water is an important element in Islamic culture, the fountain in the yard is used for evolution, and it brings freshness to the building. But there is no status of Devine in Islamic building.
